Since 2007, LABtrio became key to the Belgian jazz scene thanks to its three versatile, outstanding members.
Lander Gyselinck (drums) | Anneleen Boehme (double bass) | Bram De Looze (piano)
Endowed with a fresh and adventurous approach to music, this trio’s acoustic universe conceals an urban jazz that flirts with electronic, underground and hip-hop cultures. Their music is refreshing and constantly evolving. Besides their own compositions, they alternate with jazz standards with a personal twist.
Lander Gyselinck, Anneleen Boehme and Bram De Looze — meanwhile all international stars with flourishing careers going far beyond jazz music — look for lyricism and drive, melodies and beats. Inspired by different musical genres, ranging from classical music to pop and electronics.
The band has released three albums on Outhere Music: 'Fluxus' (2013), ‘The Howls Are Not What They Seem’ (2016) with New Yorkers Michaël Attias & Christopher Hoffman and 'Nature City' (2017), which celebrated their 10th anniversary.
LABtrio received several awards and other prizes, including a superb ‘Audience and Grand Prize’ at the prestigious Avignon Tremplin Jazz Festival in 2011, toured the UK with Match&Fuse in 2015, were selected for Jazzahead! in 2016 and so on.

Press
"Een album ook waar dit collectief een erg gerijpte sound laat horen die zowat overal inspiratie (pop, electronica, jazz, klassiek, improv,..) uit put." ★★★★
Written in Music (NL)
"Avec un art certain de la narration et une précision rythmique diabolique, les trois Flamands concoctent une musique dense, complexe et lyrique à la fois, dans laquelle se mêlent leurs influence."
Citizen Jazz (FR)
"Now a decade together, this Belgian trio have a presence on the international new-generation jazz scene, and their new recording is worth a look with its sideways take at Bach and zen piano trio jazz." ★★★
