Anneleen Boehme

Anneleen Boehme is a true key figure within the Belgian jazz scene, active as double bass player in various projects.

Anneleen Boehme made name as the bass player of the well-known Belgian jazz trio LABtrio, together with Lander Gyselinck and Bram De Looze, with whom she performed on numerous festivals in Belgium and abroad, and appeared on various national and international radio and tv shows. ​

In 2019, she formed her own band Grand Picture Palace which has been warmly welcomed on the Belgian jazz scene. Influenced by classical and contemporary music, bass players such as Charlie Haden, Charles Mingus and composers like Gavin Bryars, she decided to start composing for double bass and orchestra. They have released the acclaimed first album Grand Picture Palace in 2021 on W.E.R.F.Records.

Currently, she is working on a solo repertoire for double bass, which will be released in 2024 (W.E.R.F. Records). In 2022-2023, she already performed solo at KAAP (Bruges), Flagey, Fréyju Fést (Iceland), ... and is available for bookings. 

Anneleen is also playing in a couple of other bands such as Yskan and Saragon, and has worked together with jazz musicians such as Chris Cheek, Michel Portal, Bert Joris, ...
