Press conference Brosella Jazz & Folk Festival w/ Lynn Cassiers' Imaginary Band

The word is out! Lynn Cassiers will premiere with her Imaginary Band at the 41st edition of Brosella Folk & Jazz Festival this summer.

Singer Lynn Cassiers was invited by Brosella to compose for the 'Carte Blanche Jazz' at July 9. She has been dreaming of her own band in which she fills the role of artistic director for a while now. So, for the occasion, she invited Alexandra Grimal (sax), Ananta Roossens (violin & trumpet), Niels Van Heertum (euphonium), Erik Vermeulen (piano), Manolo Cabras (double bass) and Marek Patrman (drums) to form septet 'Imaginary Band'. She will take charge of the compositions.

Expect a unique mix of voice and electronics with an acoustic ensemble, in which rhythmic and harmonic jazz structures are placed in soundscapes and texture improvisations. It will charm every jazz lover!

Now that 'Imaginary Band' is born, Lynn would like to take the opportunity to record an album, together with a series of release concerts (spring 2018).

We want to thank the VGC & Vlaamse Gemeenschap for supporting this project.
